runner up

My love for Crayola was rekindled when I was in school and Wisteria was one of my favourite crayons. For the colour, yes, but more so for the name. I just felt like that word described my mood and personality for a long period in my life.

This blog was originally meant to be called "Wisteria", but it isn't.
Because some idiot was "testing it out".

Parental love

There's a paan shop outside my office - a little stall that sells cigarettes, chips, chai, the works. An old couple runs the shop - they are probably in their 70s. A couple of days ago, one of my colleagues asked for a cigarette, and the old lady handed it to him and said, "Yeh lo, beta." which roughly translates to "Here you go, son."

I just thought the phraseology was... ironic.

Match

November 21, 2011

How does every single restaurant/bar world over know that a Corona is to be served with a lemon wedged in the mouth of the bottle?

I'm sitting at Hard Rock Cafe, Bali. The entire place is full of people shouting at the screen - a soccer match is on: Malaysia vs Indonesia (which I'm guessing is the equivalent of an India-Pakistan cricket match). So every time the crowd shouts or cheers, Arpit and I scream random things at the screen. We still haven't figured which team is which, but we're having so much fun this way, that we don't care.
